RiskAC's Participation in the Information Event on "Crisis & Natural Disaster Management: The Next Day"
The Coordinator of KEDIAK, Ioannis Dokas, was invited as a speaker at the event entitled “Crisis and Natural Disaster Management: The Next Day”, organized by the Institute for Development of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The event took place on Monday 11 November 2024, at 18:00, at the ‘Manos Hadjidakis House’ Art and Thought Centre in Xanthi.
The aim of the event was to highlight the challenges related to crisis and natural disaster management, as well as to promote the resilience of local communities through a multidisciplinary and participatory approach. Specifically, through the collaboration of academics, professionals and local stakeholders, it seeks to develop innovative solutions and action practices for the prevention and immediate response to disaster events.
During his presentation on “A holistic approach to resilience: The case of RiskAC”, Professor Ioannis Dokas highlighted the importance of prevention and immediate response to crises and natural disasters.
The event took place in the framework of the FIREWISE project, with the valuable support of ‘Europe Direct Eastern Macedonia and Thrace’.
Σκοπός της εκδήλωσης ήταν η ανάδειξη των προκλήσεων που σχετίζονται με τη διαχείριση κρίσεων και φυσικών καταστροφών, καθώς και στην προώθηση της ανθεκτικότητας των τοπικών κοινωνιών μέσω μιας διεπιστημονικής και συμμετοχικής προσέγγισης. Συγκεκριμένα, μέσα από τη συνεργασία ακαδημαϊκών, επαγγελματιών και τοπικών φορέων, επιδιώκεται η ανάπτυξη καινοτόμων λύσεων και πρακτικών δράσης για την πρόληψη και την άμεση αντιμετώπιση καταστροφικών συμβάντων.
Κατά την παρουσίασή του με θέμα «Μια ολιστική προσέγγιση για την ανθεκτικότητα: Η περίπτωση του ΚΕΔΙΑΚ», ο Καθηγητής Ιωάννης Δόκας ανέδειξε τη σημασία της πρόληψης και της άμεσης αντίδρασης σε περιπτώσεις κρίσεων και φυσικών καταστροφών.
Η εκδήλωση πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του έργου FIREWISE, με την πολύτιμη υποστήριξη του “Europe Direct Ανατολικής Μακεδονίας και Θράκης”
