New Advances in Seismic Hazard Assessment in the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace

RiskAC’s Seismic Hazard Team has published their latest work in GeoHazards, an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal on theoretical and applied research across the whole spectrum of geomorphological hazards. This cutting-edge work presents a comprehensive probabilistic seismic hazard assessment for the Region of East Macedonia and Thrace, employing advanced seismic source models and an updated earthquake catalog to address the region’s dynamic seismic environment. The study not only refines hazard estimations but also sets the stage for improved infrastructure design and risk mitigation strategies in one of Europe’s most seismically active areas.
